Chelsea is currently enduring their worst start to a premier league season in decades.
Despite appearing to dare the club’s management to sack him if they wish, Jose Mourinho remains as the Blues boss. The club management even went ahead to offer him their support days after the Southampton loss.
Mourinho has now thanked the club owner, Roman Abramovich for the support. Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, the 52-year-old Portuguese thanked the club’s Russian owner :
“It shows the confidence of Abramovich in the manager who has won three Premier League titles with this club. I thank him and I keep working.”
The former Real Madrid also confessed he can’t explain what’s behind Chelsea’s poor form but promised he is working like never before to turn around the team’s fortune.
“What’s going on? I do not know. I cannot hide that reality, and I don’t want to. But, I assure you that I am working like never before and we will come out of this,” Mourinho explained.
Chelsea is currently 16th on the premier league table.
