Unknown gunmen on Wednesday May 20th 2015 kidnapped the mother of Benue state Representative-elect Orker Jev.
The incident occurred at Mboyo, Tombo in Buruku Local Government Area of the state.
According to eyewitness report, the gunmen arrived the area in a red toyota and whisked the aged woman away overpowering members of a vigilance group in the area. The witness also confirmed that the gunmen exchanged fire with some policemen at a checkpoint as they escaped with the woman.
Confirming the incident, in an interview with The Punch, Jev said that efforts are un-going to ensure the release of his mother. Although, no contact has been made to him by the men of the underworld requesting for ransom or the where-about of his mother.
The Public Relations officer of the Benue state command Austin Ezeani confirmed the incident and said efforts where being put in place to ensure her rescue
