A Houston mother is accused of locking her child out of the apartment so she could have sεx with her boyfriend.
Jolisa Renee Peterson, 22, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
A Good Samaritan called police after seeing the young girl trying to cross a busy intersection. The child told officers that her mother told her to “go outside and play” because she was “asleep with a boy.”
During her conversation with police, the young girl revealed that she’d also gone to the gas station twice during the day and didn’t go to school. The route to the gas station meant that the girl would’ve crossed at least two busy intersections to make it to her destination.
A manager at the apartment complex said he’d seen a six year old girl and a two year old walk around unsupervised on other occasions.
She is not the only parent arrested in recent weeks for putting sεx ahead of her child’s welfare. In July a Virginia father allegedly left his children in a hot car so he could have sεx.
Juan Munford, 47, allegedly left his twin one year old daughters in a hot car with the windows rolled up while he had sεx with a woman up against a wall at an apartment complex.
People living in the complex called police after they heard the girls crying.
“We went around to the back of the duplex and discovered a male and a female engaging in sεxual intercourse,” Prince George Police Capt. Brian Kei said at the time. “At that point they [police] made contact with the individual who identified himself as the father of the two twins.”
Munford was arrested and charged with child endangerment and indecent exposure.
