NIGER – It was a dark day for the family of a Minna-based business man, Martins Nwankwo, as he allegedly took his own life at his residence in Tunga, a suburb of the State capital.
The unfortunate incident took place on Wednesday, March 12, 2014.
It was gathered that Nwankwo’s neighbours rushed into his residence after hearing the sound of gunshot, only to find him dead with a gun by his side
The late business man, who owns a fleet of electronic shops in Minna, Port Harcourt and Abuja was said to have shot himself in the stomach.
The Niger state Police Public Relation Officer, Richard Oguche reportedly upheld the suspicion of a suicide, saying that there was no sign of external attack on the house. He stated that investigation was ongoing in the case and noted that the deceased did not leave a suicide note.
The late Nwankwo is survived by his pregnant wife and five children.
