Nigeria’s new Minister of Transport and former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi promised to make sure that all on going rail projects around the country are completed.
He made the pledge on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 after he was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja.
According to Punch, Amaechi availed that he would resume office fully on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 when the new Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Sabiu Zakari, would resume duty.
He said: “We are interested in completing all ongoing rail projects around the country because we don’t want to disappoint Nigerians. It is important that we realise that we have a mandate to deliver on our promises and there is competition among the ministers to deliver and we don’t want to take last.”
