Olusegun Mimiko, the governor of Ondo State, will on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 perform the flag-off ceremony of the distribution of multi-million naira worth of farm inputs to farmers across the 18 local government areas of the state.
Kayode Akinmade, commissioner of information for Ondo State, made this known to the press in Akure, the state’s capital on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. He revealed that the event was originally slated for Thursday but has been moved forward to Wednesday.

According to the e-mailed statement sent to The Trent, the flag off will be performed by Governor Mimiko at Oladejo Matins, Akinnifemi Memorial Hall, Bolorundoro in Ondo East and farmers in the state are expected to visit the farm service centres in their respective local governments with their Ondo State citizenship/residency smart card, known as Kaadi Igbeayo, to partake of the government largesse.
The statement emphasized that the distribution will take place in the 18 local government areas simultaneously with the flag-off in Bolorunduro, adding however that the distribution will be sustained beyond the flag off day.
Slated for distribution to complement the agriculture hardware the farmers will get are fungicides, herbicides, fish feeds, fish nets, and iron files among others.
