Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. was awarded the World Boxing Organization welterweight title when he defeated Manny “Pac-Man” Pacquiao on May 2, but it has been that the belt will be stripped from him for not following WBO regulations.
According to Bleacher Report, Floyd declined to pay the $200,000 sanctioning fee for the title by the deadline.
Also, he decided against vacating the WBA and WBC junior middleweight titles, which was necessary since boxers are not permitted to hold world championships in multiple weight classes.
It seems Mayweather has no other option but to relinquish the belt, but I’m sure this means nothing to him due to the impressive achievements he’s earned throughout his career.
