A 28-year-old man was faced with a very difficult decision of choosing to rescue either his wife or his mother who were both drowning at the same time.
Wang Fei Guo took his wife of four years Xiaoqing, out on the lake on her request, during a visit to his mum’s house which is also near a lake in China.
His mother also asked to join them on the trip in their area renowned for fishing.
Things however, turned a bit awry during the fishing trip after their boat capsized and the two women fell into the water.
Guo who knows how to swim immediately went to save his wife and subsequently rescued his own mother.
The trio came out safely from the water and Guo’s mother was taken to a hospital.
When his father learnt of his son’s decision to save his wife first before his mother, he became so enraged but thankfully, he later claimed to have understood his son.
He said, “How can a man choose between the 2 women he loves.”
On her part, Guo’s mother said that she respects her son’s decision to save his wife first before saving her.
But people have been reacting differently to the man’s decision after the story was posted online.
Some opined that he would have saved his mother first while others lauded his decision to save his wife first.
