Manchester United are set to open talks with Bayern Munich over a £40million transfer deal to sign Thomas Muller.
United are looking to add an outstanding forward to their ranks this summer, and manager Louis van Gaal would love them to sign Muller.
The Germany ace is one of the best around, and the Independent says talks are set to begin over a deal.
United would be prepared to offer £40m to get Muller to Old Trafford – and hope that would be enough to do business.
Muller is only 25 and has his best years ahead of him despite an incredible CV which includes Champions League and World Cup trophies.
Manchester United have also made signing Paul Pogba their number one transfer priority, according to reports.
United, who have plans to spend £101million on transfers this summer, are looking for a dynamic central midfielder.
And the Guardian says attention has focused on re-signing Pogba from Juventus, with United making him a priority signing.
Pogba is valued at £70m but recent suggestions say Juve would accept about £58million – having decided to cash in on a major asset.
Barcelona, Chelsea, Arsenal and Real Madrid will all offer competition for the Frenchman.
