After beating his wife over allegations of infidelity and making her walk the streets wearing just bra and underpants, a man has gone on his knees claiming that he was drunk.
The man gave his 33-year-old wife, Wang Ni, a sign that read, “I want to sell my body” which she held and cried through the streets to the gaze of passersby while he followed her in his car.
Now, 37-year-old Zhang is has written an apology to a local newspaper in his bid to make the public believe that he wasn’t with his senses at the time.
The walk of shame would remain indelible in Ni’s memory as she paraded through the in Yushan County, China barely covering her modesty.
Zhang who owns a property development company was said to work long hours and stays in a different city has two daughters with Ni who he married 10 years ago.
Close sources to the couple revealed that he was angry and abused the wife because she had not borne him a male child.
However, the abuse came to the peak when he visited and while hanging out with his friends, he learnt that his wife was cheating on him.
Zhang couldn’t just take the news, so he went home in the drunken state and battered his wife before stripping her and sending her into the street.
According to Mirror UK, police officers rescued the traumatised woman and took her back to the police station where they invited her husband for interrogation..
There was no evidence that Ni actually cheated on her husband following the investigation and Zhang later apologised to Wang and penned a formal apology in his local newspaper, perhaps on demand by the police.
In the meantime, it is not certain if the woman accepted the apology, not after the embarrassment she suffered.
It is really appalling that a man would go that extreme to abuse a woman, let alone his own wife.
