A Nigerian man, Jeffery Okafor, has been arrested over the murder of British actor five years after he fled the UK.
19-year-old Carl Beatson Asiedu died after being stabbed outside Club Life in Vauxhall, South London, in the early hours of August 1 2009.
The suspect, Okafor fled to Nigeria using his brother’s passport. He was last seen at the Heathrow Airport boarding a flight to Nigeria right after the murder.
Nigerian police say they have arrested Okafor after a wide Facebook appeal to track him down offering a reward of N2.8 million for information leading to his arrest and prosecution.
Okafor was detained by Nigerian authorities on Tuesday, September 23, 2014
He is expected to be extradited back to Britain.
