A airplane passenger has narrated his ordeal in the hands of a drunk neighbour during a flight who groped his girlfriend and proceeded to perform a sex act while watching porn.
Nathan Paterson, 29, was travelling aboard Jetstar flight JQ12 from Narita, Japan, to the Gold Coast with his girlfriend when the man displayed the lewd act.
He said, “My girlfriend, who was sitting next to me, notified me that the gentleman (next to her) felt her twice down the right side of her body from her shoulder down past her buttocks and thigh… he touched her in a sexual manner.”
According to News.com.au, he called the attention of the cabin crew who seized six bottles of clear alcohol which the man had been apparently downing.
The 50-year-old Japanese man later brought out a pornographic magazine after which he pulled down his pants.
“As he started reading the magazine he pulled down his pants all the way to his ankles to expose his leggings.
“He then proceeded to place his hands into his leggings and start moving his arm in an up and down motion,”Paterson said.
He later filed a report to the police when they got to Gold Coast after he criticised the cabin crew of failure to take actions.
The unnamed man pleaded guilty to offensive and disorderly behaviour on an aircraft, and was fined $2125 – just over £1,000.
Jetstar company claimed they carried out an investigation and the man concerned has been placed on a ‘no fly list’.
A spokesperson for the airline said, “Clearly this was a distressing incident and we regret that one of our passengers was subjected to the deplorable behaviour of another passenger on-board.
“We’ve apologised to the passenger affected for our delay in communicating with them as we conducted an internal investigation.
“Jetstar takes the safety and security of all our passengers very seriously and we have assisted the Australian Federal Police with their investigations.”
