What started as a little harmless argument between two friends identified as Chukwuemeka and Akpan at Old Ojo Road in Agboju area of Lagos State on Thursday, January 22, 2015 escalated into a fight.
According to reports, the argument had started when Chukwuemeka tried to talk his friend into joining the All Progressives Congress party after he had returned from one of their rally in Ajeromi/Ifelodun local government area.
This obviously did not sit well with Akpan who was an ardent People Democratic Party supporter. The argument got intense and Akpan allegedly threw a punch at Chukwuemeka in the chest which eventually led to a fight that resulted in Akpan loosing his teeth.
An eyewitness identified as Etim said he was surprised when the fight started because Chukwuemka and Akpan have been good friends for many years.
He said, “Akpan fainted and those in the area had to use cold water to revive him. We have been friends for many years and I don’t know why the two friends who knew each other about a decade before I knew them would fight over election that they will not gain much from. As for me, I am not a fanatical supporter of any candidate so I will not fight because of any candidate.’
