TERRIBLE: Man Kills Daughter, 6 Grandchildren, Then Commits Suicide (PICTURED)

A 51-year old man has fatally shot his daughter along with six of her children in Florida on Thursday, September 18, 2014 in what authorities have termed a “murder-suicide”, CNN reports.

The shooter who was identified as Don Spirit shot his 28-year old daughter Sarah Spirit along with her six children whose ages ranged between 3 months and 11 years, according to Gilchrist county sheriff Robert Schultz, although the type of firearm used for the shooting was not disclosed.

Schultz disclosed that Spirit, who called 911 around 4 pm, killed himself after a deputy arrived the scene.

Reports say Spirit has a lengthy criminal record spanning about 22 years. In 2003, he was sentenced to three years in jail for accidentally killing his son while hunting in 2001. he was later charged with possessing a firearm by a convicted felon which he pleaded guilty to.
