Man Flees After Stabbing Brother To Death In Imo

Must read

A man (names withheld) has allegedly stabbed his half brother, Mr. Evaristus Chukwudi Ukeh, to death in the Ehume autonomous community of Obowo Local Government Area, Imo State.

A villager, who pleaded anonymity, told Vanguard that Evaristus, who was fondly called “the Cross”, by his friends and associates, had a misunderstanding with his alleged assailant earlier in the day.

The misunderstanding was said to have ended initially without much struggle.

An eyewitness said, “We were all surprised when somebody close to the assailant later worked successfully on his sensibilities and he again went to war.”

It was learnt that the assailant traced the deceased to his house and stabbed him with a broken bottle after he opened the door.

Continuing, the source said, “Information we received  showed that there was nobody in the house when the assailant stormed the home of Evaristus.

‘’So, he was just at the mercy of the attacker who stabbed him to death.”

A second witness disclosed that the bandit fled to Enugu after committing the offence.

She said, “An indigene of the community residing in Enugu, however, saw the fleeing assailant and promptly contacted those at home.

‘’The police was called in and he was nabbed before he changed location.”

The incident was confirmed by an officer at Obowo Police Division even though he failed to give an in-depth analysis.
