Man Docked For Pouring ‘Strange Water’ On Prophetess in Osun

An Osogbo Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 docked a 39-year-old man, identified as Kazeem Ariyo, for allegedly pouring ‘strange’ water on a prophetess along Sabiatu Street, Osogbo, Osun State.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ajayi told the court that the accused committed the offence aroud 11am on Friday, February 19, 2016.

Ajayi said that the accused was having a misunderstanding with the complainant before he poured the liquid substance on her, and caused a breach of the peace.

He said that the offence contravened section 249(d) of the Criminal Code cap34 Volume.11 laws of Osun, 2003.

After the count charge of breach of public peace was read to him, the accused pleaded not guilty and counsel to the accused, Mrs Raji Abiodun, prayed the court to grant her client bail in the most liberal terms.

Following the plea, the Magistrate, Mr Olusola Aluko, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 and a surety in like sum.

Aluko said that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, with evidence of tax payment and two passport size photographs, attached with an affidavit of means.

The case was adjourned to Thursday, March 3, 2016 for further hearing.
