A woman, Blessing Akarayere, has dragged her husband to a Gudu Upper Area Court in the Federal Capital Territory for allegedly raping their 11-year-old daughter.
The defendant, Uche Uzogora, who lives in Kabusa village, Apo, FCT, was remanded in police custody by the presiding officer, Alhaji Umar Kagarko.
The complainant told the court that her husband, after defiling their daughter, warned her not to tell anyone of the encounter.
However, Uzogara pleaded not guilty to the one count charge of raping a minor.
The Prosecutor, Urom Otu, told the court that the complainant approached the Apo Polce station on Monday, May 2, 2016 with a report that her husband raped their daughter who she left in his care and travelled to the village in December 2015 to write an examination.
The prosecutor further revealed that the man threatened to kill the victim if she revealed the escapade to anyone.
Kagarko adjourned the case until Monday, July 25, 2016 for hearing.
