A man in Abeokuta, Ogun state has allegedly committed suicide after he was duped by his estranged lover.
The man, identified as Samsideen Akinwunmi was said to have committed the act on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
Akinwunmi, who until his death worked as a carpenter hung himself on a ceiling fan in his room at Aboaba street, in Itori-Ode area of Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

The source further said that he saw Akinwunmi at about 2:45 pm on Saturday, August 23, 2014 when he sent all his children on errand before killing himself.
According to the source, the deceased left a suicide note which explained why he killed himself.
“He indicated that his estranged lover had duped him of millions of Naira and that he had to kill himself.
Reacting to the incident, a community leader and Alapinni of Egbaland, Chief Omolaso Ojedele, saidit was a tragedy.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Muyiwa Adejobi, could not be reached for reaction. It was, however, gathered that the Police had taken the corpse away.
