A 28-year-old man, Sunday Nwali was arrested by the Ebonyi state police command for allegedly killing a student, Chioma Ezekwele of Kingdom secondary school Ikweator Idembia in Ezza south local government of Ebonyi because she refused having sex with him.
Confirming the arrest, the state commissioner of Police, Mr Maigari Dikko said Nwali popularly known as machine by his two friends named Chukwuma Eloma and Friday Ebenyi had gone to the hostel of the school where they approached late Ezekwele and her friend Sandra.
The suspect had demanded for sex from the deceased which she refused and in anger he shot her dead with a gun while he dragged her friend Sandra into the bush and raped her before fleeing the scene.
According to the commissioner, ‘Chioma resisted a move by Nwali to have carnal knowledge of her and in annoyance, he shot her dead. He then dragged Sandra to a nearby bush, defiled her and ran away. His two accomplices, who were later identified by Sandra, were arrested and charged to court for conspiracy/murder.”
Further investigations revealed Nwali was recently involved in a murder case after his gang killed the three year old son of one Mr Orie Okorie in Effium, Ebonyi state.
