A 35-year-old man identified as Mark Allen Hughes has been arrested for punishing his son by forcing him to drink alcohol beverages until he passed out.
The officials at the Sweetwater Police command disclosed that the man forced his son to drink alcohol as a punishment until the poor boy passed out and hospitalized.
It was alleged that Hughes caught his son drinking alcohol and decided to deal with him by giving him much more alcohol to consume so he would realize the risks involved in taking alcohol especially at a tender age.
According to reports, witnesses immediately alerted the police to the home of the teenager on the night of the incident who discovered that Hughes was drunk.
Sources disclosed that Hughes forced his son to play a drinking game by forcing him to drink many cups of alcohol in order to teach him a lesson.
It was learnt that the angry father attacked the people who tried to stop him from continuing with the the terrible punishment meted out on the little boy.
CBS Atlanta reports that when officers arrived at the home of the boy, he had no pulse and they performed CPR until an ambulance arrived. The teen was treated at a hospital and released.
Sweetwater Police Chief Eddie Byrum assured that they will do everything possible as provided by the law to ensure that justice prevails.
Meanwhile, the man was arraigned with severe child abuse, neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
