A Lagos State Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Yaba on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 arraigned a 30-year-old man identified as Emeji Christopher for allegedly sucking the penis of a 9-year-old boy inside a toilet in the University of Lagos.
The accused was charged on a one count of indecent treatment of a child, a charge to which he pleaded not guilty.
During the hearing, the case prosecutor, Insp. Rita Momoh, told the court how the suspect lured the minor to Jaja Hall toilet of the aforementioned school where he committed the act in November 2014.
Momoh said, ”The police have been on the lookout for the accused following a report by his parents.
”The accused was only apprehended recently after he was seen roaming the university aimlessly.’’
The prosecutor revealed that the offence contravened Section 135 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
Christopher was however, granted bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr P. A. Adeeyo, consequently adjourned the case for substantive trial until Monday, October 12, 2015.
