A 23-year-old man made a mistake that might cost him a gainful employment after he sent two nude selfies of himself to the Human Resources Manager of a company which had just offered him a job following an interview.
The man from Aurora, Illinois received a preliminary job offer with the St. Charles-based company but ruined the offer with the selfies.
The human resources manager informed Elmhurst police of the incident on August 14, 2015.
According to police records, he sent the lewd photos between Tuesday, August 11 and Thursday, August 13, 2015.
The HR manager ignored the selfies but when the applicant later called the office to inquire about next steps, she recognized the number and reported the unwanted sexts to police.
Elmhurst Police Chief Michael Ruth said, “He texted the HR director and sent a nude photo of himself. My understanding is they’ve rescinded the offer of employment.”
Chicago Tribune reports that the man explained that the nude selfies had been meant for someone else’s eyes. The HR manager did not press charges.
The police report states: “(Police) contacted the offender who admitted to sending the photographs, explaining they were actually meant for another individual and were sent to the victim in error.
“(Police) advised the offender to cease any contact with the victim.
“We’re seeing it much more often now with our young people sending inappropriate photos of themselves.
“They’re sharing it with someone else and the next thing you know it takes on a life of its own.”
