NAN – A 30-year-old man, Promise Nwambuko, on Monday, November 23, 2015 appeared before a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, over the theft a N25,000 cell phone.
Nwambuko, who lives at No. 26 Opeloyeru St., Orile, Surulere, Lagos, is facing a charge of stealing.
He, however, pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Gabriel Ekundayo, told the court that the accused committed the offence at Rita Lori Hotel along Babs Animashaun Road, Surulere, at about 7.15a.m. on Nov. 19
He said the complainant, Tashie Bamidele, came to the station to report that his cell phone was stolen by the accused while he was charging it in the swimming pool bar of the hotel.
Ekundayo said that the offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, granted the accused bail in the sum of N10,000, with one surety in like sum.
Dan-Oni said that the address of the surety, who should be gainfully employed, must be verified.
She adjourned the case till Dec. 2 for mention.
