A 24-year-old single father of three had raped his 14-year-old niece three times as a way of punishing her for serving him dirty water in Denga village of Plumtree Zimbabwe.
The suspect identified simply as Ncube was on Monday, January 19, 2015 arrested and after trial sentenced to serve a jail term of 16 years although he denied the claims .
Investigations revealed that on the day the incident happened, the suspect asked his niece for water and she gave him only for him to slap her on the face after drinking the water with claims that the water was dirty.
He subsequently dragged her to his bedroom and forcibly undressed her and raped her three times before dismissing her.
After the encounter the victim confided in one of her uncles who eventually called the attention of the other family members who later alerted the police.
According to reports, Ncube will serve at least 12 years in prison after four years of the sentence were suspended provided he does not commit a similar offense for the next 16 years.
