Juventus president, Andrea Agnelli is of the opinion that there are no excuses for the club’s form. After winning a domestic double and reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League last season, the Italian giants are currently 14th on the Serie A table.
Speaking ahead of the club’s shareholder meeting, Agnelli stated that the departure of key players such as Arturo Vidal, Carlos Tevez and Andrea Pirlo in the summer is no justification’s for the club’s poor form.
“We knew the process of renewing the Juventus squad could create some problems but it’s not a justification for our current 14th place in the table.
“The investments in Dybala, Lemina, Rugani, Morata, Sturaro, Pogba and Zaza guarantee us a great future.
“We’re always vigilant in the transfer market, and we’re ready to seize any opportunities, like the Tevez one,” he said.
The club’s new signings including Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic have performed below par so far.
