The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has approved and adopted consensus for the local government congress in the state.
Lawan Yunusa Danzomo, the chairman, local organising committee, disclosed this at the party’s headquarters in Dutse after the stakeholders meeting.
He said the party members have already selected the executives through consensus to avoid any rancor in the party.
Danzomo also explained that the local government committee for the national headquarters would affirm all those elected through consensus in accordance with the party’s constitution.
Haruna Muhammed, the secretary, Organising Committee, said, the national headquarters is delighted with the recent arrangement on ground for the conduct of the congress.
He said the party’s constitution has given room that the congresses and elections of the executives can be done through voting or consensus.
Haruna added that his committee has not received any complaints from any member of the party opposing the decision.
