Senior Staff Association of Nigerian University on Friday, June 26, 2015, said they are against moves by the federal government to discontinue with the payment of salaries of university staff school teachers.
The national vice president of the Union, Leku Ador, led the protest at the university of Port Harcourt.
According to reports, the chairman of the union said Vice chancellors of tertiary institutions in the feration received a circular from the federal government asking it to stop the payment
Mr Leku lamented why the federal government would not stop payment of salaries in Primary school that are operated by the army, nave, air force and even the police.
He further stated a decision would result in an increase in school fees. And that mother of the lecturers in these tertiary institution have their wards in these schools.
