Barely three days to the presidential elections, commercial activities practically came to a halt in Lagos state on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 as supporters of President Jonathan’s re-election bid under the aegis of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria,TAN organized a mega rally in support of their candidates under the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Dignitaries, thousands of TAN members and PDP supporters gathered as early as 8a.m. at the National Stadium, clad in, PDP and TAN customized outfits and chanting support for President Jonathan.
Speaking at the rally, the National Vice Chairman of TAN, Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah said that the rally was aimed at informing the opposition that “there is no vacancy in Aso Rock till 2019.”
He said: “We urge you all to vote for President Jonathan on Saturday for him to continue his transformation agenda for the nation.
“Lagosians are ready to vote for the president and that is the same story all over the country.
According to New Telegraph, Ubah noted that TAN has also thrown its weight behind the governorship candidate in the state, Mr. Jimi Agba,
He said, “We will do everything humanly possible to liberate the people of Lagos State by ensuring victory for Agbaje.”
There was serious gridlock along Western Avenue- Ikorodu as the massive supporters subsequently marched into the street sensitising people on the need to re-elect the president for a second tenure.
