Kwara Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed has extended hands of congratulations to his predecessor, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on his emergence as the new senate president and by implication, chairman of the 8th National Assembly.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor on Tuesday, June 9, 2015.
He said, “On behalf of the government and people of Kwara State, I congratulate my leader, Distinguished Senator Bukola Saraki, the new Senate President and Chairman of the National Assembly.
“His emergence not only reaffirms the supremacy of popular will, it also underlines our collective preference for a credible legislature and our confidence in Senator Bukola Saraki’s capacity and competence to lead it.”
Senator Saraki, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District was elected unopposed in the morning of the aforementioned day and was subsequently sworn in by Clerk to the National Assembly, Salisu Abubakar Mai-Kasuwa.
