Former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso has picked up his presidential nomination form of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, a party where he appears certain to clinch the ticket.
The former Kano governor purchased the party nomination form on Tuesday for N30 million at the party’s National Headquarters in Abuja in the presence of the party’s National Chairman, Prof. Rufai Alkali, the National Organising Secretary, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi and other members of the National Working Committee.
According to Kwankwaso, the NNPP has come to remedy the trot created by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The NNPP was an obscure party until Kwankwaso dumped the PDP and made it a platform with some A-list politicians joining it.
Kwankwaso joined the NNPP on the 29th of March, 2022 over what he described as a ‘serious and irreconcilable difference.’
After defecting to the NNPP, Kwankwaso was named National Leader of the party and his loyalists clinched top positions of the new National Executive Committee effectively putting the party’s organs in his control.
