President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, August 27, 2015 met with the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Details of the meeting, described as ‘brief’ were not made known to newsmen. It is unclear if Kukah was invited to Aso Rock by Buhari.
Kukah made headlines as he came under attack from sections of the media after visiting the President under the umbrella of the National Peace Committee early August. After the meeting, Kukah had said that probes cannot take the place of governance and called on the media to stop its “lynching” of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Kukah, did not respond to questions from State House correspondents as he left the Presidential chambers of Aso Rock.
“I have a plane to catch by 12:30pm,”, the Bishop told newsmen as he practically ran out of the Villa at 11:37am.
