Kogi Youths Throw Weight Behind Governor Wada’s Re-election

Youths under the aegis of Ebira/Okun/Lokoja/Koton Youth for Good Governance, have backed the second term ambition of the Kogi State governor, Idris Wada for the November 21 governorship poll.

The group urged people of the state, socio-cultural groups, labour unions, professionals, artisans and teachers to support the governor to enable him complete the transformation agenda he had started.

Coordinator of the coalition, Zaccheaus Michael, who stated this while addressing newsmen in Lokoja, yesterday said members of the coalition from the Central and Western senatorial district of the state throws their weight behind the PDP candidate after weighing all the candidates of various party available for the election.

Michael said: “As critical stakeholders in the state, the youth owe it a duty to make their position known on election and candidate already put forward by the parties because youth are always at receiving end of the actions of any one of them who eventually wins the election.

“We have taken our time to look at all candidates contesting governorship election, their antecedents, their conducts in public and private life, the manifestos of their parties and programme, all have been subjected to thrwough screening.

“The coalition also discovered that the people appreciated development in Agricultural sector, the women and youth empowerment programme, free health care for rural dwellers of the governor and want all these sustained and improved upon” .

He added that all the stakeholders and opinion leaders were unanimous in the their support for the Wada/Awoniyi ticket as their preferred candidate
