Suspected gunmen numbering about five in the early hours of Tuesday, April 3, 2018, stormed Gegu Beki police station in Kogi Local Government, firing and killing two policemen. The officers killed are identified simply as Jacob and Akile, who were on duties.
Also killed in the incident, according to a Daily Post report, was a detained suspect who was arrested for failing to produce a suspect he bailed.
An eyewitness who spoke to Journalists disclosed that the rifles of the policemen were taken away by the gunmen.
As the time this report was filed, the corpses of those killed have been taken to the Federal Medical Center, Lokoja by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC.
The eyewitness disclosed that the incident occurred at about 2:15 am of Tuesday.
