No fewer than four persons have been confirmed dead following attacks by Suspected Fulani herdsmen in Josho village, Daffo Chiefdom, Bokkos LGA of Plateau State. The latest incident happened Wednesday, January 24, 2018.
More than ten people were injured in the attack with dozens of houses razed down sources revealed to The Trent.
Confirming the Attack, The Village Head of Daffo, Chief Saf Dauda Maren said the incident was the fallout of an earlier dispute over grazing space between Fulani Herdsmen and natives of Daffo.
Police Public Relations Officer of Plateau State, Matthias Terna who put the number of deaths at three said one person has been arrested in connection to the attack.
Normalcy has returned following series of peace meetings between the Fulani and community leaders.
The meetings are expected to continue today towards preventing further breakdown of Law and Order.
The Fulani militant group operating in Nigeria and parts of the Central African Republic has been ranked as the 4th Deadliest Terrorist Group in the World.
As much as 92 per cent of their attacks target private citizens, reflecting the group’s primary concern over the ownership of farmland. Each attack claims an average of 11 lives, with the largest known in April 2014 killing as many as 200 people after a group of the militants targeted community leaders.
