LAGOS, Nigeria – Protests have erupted in three states across Nigeria, calling for justice in the mysterious death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, a popular Nigerian music artist.
The young artist was buried in his hometown, Ikorodu last Wednesday, and concerns have been growing over his untimely death and mysterious death.
The youth, primarily Mohbad’s fans and supporters, are demanding answers and a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
While no evidence has implicated Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley and the owner of Marlian Records, in Mohbad’s death, viral clips on social media have fueled suspicions.

Renowned artists have also joined the chorus demanding justice, taking to social media platforms to express their concerns and solidarity with the late musician.
In Abeokuta, the capital city of Ogun State, protests began in the Panseke area. Youth dressed in black mourning attire gathered at the skating ground arena, holding placards with messages like #JusticeForMohbad and #WhoTurnedOffTheLight.
Ikorodu, Lagos State, also saw protests with youth carrying placards that read, “We will not accept this; justice for Mohbad.”
In Warri, Delta State, a similar scene unfolded on Effurun Road, where demonstrators gathered, demanding answers and justice for Mohbad.
In a significant development, the Lagos State Police Command has inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to look into Mohbad’s death. This move underscores the gravity of the situation and the urgency for clarity and closure in this tragic incident.
