Beginning Monday, October 27, 2014, all travelers from African countries hit by Ebola to the United States will be monitored for 21 days, Director of Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Thomas Frieden announced today.
Information that will be collected from the travellers include email address, two phone numbers, and a physical US address.
The countries affected by this policy change are Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone.
This move mirrors the steps taken by the Nigerian government to contain the Ebola outbreak in the country after Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer brought the disease to Nigeria.
