Former minister of information and communication, Dora Nkem Akunyili has released a statement saying she has recovered from an illness that has kept her bed ridden for many months.

The former NAFDAC boss has been away from the public scene since November 2013 due to health challenges.
Akunyili, who was nominated for the ongoing National Conference, has said in a statement published by popular blogger and broadcast journalist Chris Kehinde Nwandu on his blog CKN Nigeria, that she is back on her feet and will be joining the conference soon.
“I just came out of a major sickness, for which I thank Almighty God for delivering me. I am well now but only need time to put on more weight. However, I am strong enough for this Conference and I look forward to collaborating with other delegates to chart the way for a better Nigeria,” Akunyili reportedly said.

Thank you for your enquiry.
