Contrary to earlier media reports, international singing star Jennifer Lopez will perform at the Brazil 2014 Opening Ceremony on Thursday, June 12, 2014.
On Sunday, FIFA officials announced that Lopez would not perform the official World Cup song “We Are One” alongside Pitbull and Claudia Leitte citing “production issues,” according to the New York Daily News. But Lopez’s representative now says the announcement was “premature.”
“Jennifer has always wanted to participate in the World Cup opening ceremonies,” her representative told the magazine.
“We have been trying to work out scheduling and logistics. Any statements to the contrary were premature. Jennifer would not want to disappoint her fans or fans of futbol. She will be there.”
