A critic of President Muhammadu Buhari, Somto Onuchukwu a.k.a Chosen Somto was on Friday, February 26, 2021, arrested by the police.
Reports say the police stormed his home at about 11am, broke the door and made their way into the house.
Somto, who actively participated in the EndSARS Protest, was taken to Phase 4 police station in Kubwa area of Abuja where he was charged with cybercrime and arms racketeering.
Sources say the police claim the evidence found in his home for the crimes is a WiFi internet device.
Following his arrest, Nigerians stormed Twitter to express their outrage over the arrest they describe as unlawful.
Somto was later released from police custody.
