Thugs suspected to have been hired by the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 disrupted a protest march organised by the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun (CSCEO) to rally support for Justice Folahanmi Oloyede, who had called for the impeachment of Governor Rauf Aregbesola for mismanaging the state’s resources.
According to Vanguard, pandemonium broke out immediately the rally took off as the hoodlums accosted the protesters at the Ayetoro junction in Osogbo around 9 am.
The CSCEO, which was joined by the state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) had planned to march from Ayetoro and terminate at the gate of the State House of Assembly.
Anti-riot policemen were deployed to the scene to avoid a further breakdown of law and order.
