At least ten people were said to have died and thirty others injured after a bomb blast, suspected to be detonated by a suicide bomber rocked Yola, the Adamawa State capital on Thursday, June 4, 2015.
According to Premium Times, the bomb went off at about 7:45 pm in front of the popular Jimeta maina market.
A resident of the town, Salihu Aliyu, who confirmed the explosion said: “We just finished observing the Maghrib prayer when we heard a loud blast in the direction of the market.
“You know many traders also come out of the market and display their wares outside the main market to also observe the night market.
“There was even traffic gridlock in the area with many Keke Napep operators jostling for passengers when the bomb exploded.”
The police could not be immediately contacted for confirmation.
In a related development, two other bomb blast reportedly went off at different locations in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
Although the blasts are yet to be independently confirmed, social media platform Twitter is already agog with news of the blast..
