JUST IN: High Court Orders DSS To Allow Former NSA Dasuki Travel For Treatment

Must read

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja on Friday, November 13, 2015 ruled in favour of the former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, ordering the Department of State Services (DSS) to allow him leave the country in order to seek medical attention.

Giving the verdict, Justice Ademola Adeniyi enthused that Dasuki should be allowed to seek medical treatment abroad as he sees nothing wrong with Dasuki leaving the country and returning for his trial, explaining that only a fit person can stand trial.

It would be recalled that Dasuki had approached the court after an earlier verdict to the same effect was not adhered to by the DSS.

In his ruling, Justice Ademola ruled: “Court order must be obeyed. What is wrong in the defendant travelling and coming back to face trial?

“Only a fit person can stand for trial and investigation. My own orders will not be flouted.”
