Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state has sacked the commissioner for environment, Dr Igbiks Tamuno.
The reason for relieving Tamuno of his duties has not been disclosed.
According to reports, the commissioner was holding a press briefing at his ministry when he got wind of the development.
He has been directed to submit government’s documents and property in his possession to the permanent secretary in the ministry.
