An aspirant for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and his supporters have staged a walk out of the internal election which the All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted on Saturday, June 6, 2015 for candidates of the party seeking positions in the incoming 8th Assembly.
The party, according to feelers planned to favour Femi Gbajabiamila, decision which did not go down well with the Dogara camp.
Leading the walk out was Abdulmumuni Jibrin, a member of the house, who had planned to run for office of Speaker but stepped down for Dogara.
Speaking to newsmen after walking out of the meeting, Jibrin described the election as an “ambush.”
