A car bomb went off near the Italian consulate in Cairo, Egypt on Saturday, killing one person and injuring four others.
A loud blast was heard by residents of Cairo, Egypt, early on Saturday morning.
A Cairo-based journalist told IBTimes India that the explosion was reported at the Italian Consulate and Cultural Centre, which is located near the high court, a refugee school and the journalists’ syndicate.
At least one person has been killed in the blast at the Italian consulate, Egypt’s health ministry said, according to AFP.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast so far.
The blast comes days after a bomb blast killed the country’s top public prosecutor.
A small blast had also been reported outside the Saudi Arabian consulate last month.
