Former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, has lost his son in a suspected assassination in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Oyoms Alamieyeseigha, the second son of the former governor, was killed on Sunday, October 12, 2014 in the Middle East country, Punch reports.
According to reports from sources in Dubai, his death was an assassination.
According to Punch, Two different versions have been given concerning where the former governor’s son was killed. The first version, our correspondent learnt, was that Oyoms was found dead by the staircase of his father’s house in Dubai. However, the second version alleged that the deceased’s body was found in his hotel room in Dubai, giving impression that he might have been assassinated.
The former governor has confirmed the news to Punch in reply to a text message sent to him. “He was killed in Dubai”, Alamieyeseigha said in his text.
The former governor has traveled to Dubai with another of his sons.
