Fire Outbreak Hits Marina Lagos (PHOTOS)

A fire outbreak is currently ongoing  today, Friday, January 16, 2015 in one of the buildings at Eko/Berlin Market, near the building of the Central Bank of Nigeria, behind Mandilas at Marina, Lagos state.

The outbreak which reportedly started at about 4AM has destroyed some shops and buildings.

Officials of the Lagos State Fire Service are reportedly battling to curb the fire from escalating further.

The latest fire outbreak happened while the fire men are still battling to put-out a fire outbreak at three warehouses at Kirikiri area of Lagos metropolis where inflammable products like tyres were stored, Daily Trust reports.

The Director of Fire Service in the State, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe who confirmed the incident said in the last 24 hours, the state fire service men have been battling eight different fire outbreaks among which was the 12 rooms at Ilasamaja area of the city.

Fadipe called on residents of the state to employ maximum carefulness while handling electrical appliances adding that smokers should be careful with the way they handle the remains of their cigarettes after smoking.
