The Federal Government has removed the heads of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority and the Nigerian College of Aviation technology, Punch reports.
This development comes barely three weeks after the removal of the Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah.
The special adviser on media to the secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Sam Nwaobasi, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 in Abuja announced replacements for the removed officers.
The managing director of FAAN, Mr George Uriesi is to be replaced by Saleh Dumona, the Director of Projects.
The general manager, procurements, in the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, Ibrahim Abdulsalam, is to replace Nnamdi Udoh as Managing Director of the agency.
The director general of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu will be replaced by the commissioner, Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau, Capt. Muhktar Usman, upon confirmation by the senate.
Also to act on confirmation by the senate is Benedict Adeyileka, who will take up the position as director general, NCAA pending Usman’s confirmation by the Senate.
Likewise, Capt. Akinyele Caulcrick, the Government Safety Inspector and International Civil Aviation Organisation Focal Point for Nigeria on line Aircraft Safety Information Systems replaces Capt. Chinyere Kalu as Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology.
The Director of Licensing in NCAA, Dr. Felix A. Abali is to replace Capt. Muhktar Usman as Commissioner (AIPB)
Tony Anuforo retains his position as director general of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency.
