The launch of one of Africa’s biggest entertainment properties, Big Brother Africa (BBA) Season 9 scheduled for Sunday, September 7, 2014 has been postponed following a devastating fire at the Big Brother House.
Producers M-Net and Endemol issued a joint statement, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 saying, that nobody was hurt in the fire and arrangement are underway to secure a new location for the hit reality TV show.
“Due to a devastating fire at the Big Brother house today based at the Sesani Studios in Johannesburg, Big Brother Hotshots will not launch this Sunday (September 7) as scheduled.
“The cause of the fire at this stage is unknown and investigations will commence as soon as it is safe to do so.
“However, M-Net and Endemol are urgently looking for an alternative Big Brother house in which to film the production, as this production has highly technical infrastructure, camera and edit requirements and alternative is not immediately available.”
“Every effort will be made to find a solution as quickly as possible to ensure that Africa’s biggest reality show will continue,” the statement concluded.
