A journalist attached to Daily Trust newspaper was on Friday, May 29, 2015 beaten to a state of coma in Nasarawa State by pro-APC thugs during the inauguration ceremony of Governor Tanko Al-Makura for writing certain reports perceived to be against President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Al-Makura.
According to reports, the journalist, whose name was given as Hir Joseph, was summoned by the thugs shortly after Gov. Al-makura and his deputy had taken their oaths at the Lafia Parade Ground.
In Joseph’s words: “I was watching the inauguration with some colleagues when the thugs who had the inscription ‘Ta’Al Boys’ on their T-shirts demanded that I follow them.
“I asked why they wanted me to follow them but they gave no answer. Rather, they pounced on me and dragging me at the same time. I only woke up in the hospital after.”
He was rescued by security operatives and rushed to the Dalhatu Specialist Hospital, Lafia for medical treatment.
